4 Days in Tokyo
Arrived in Tokyo from Kyoto and stopped by KITTE, a shopping mall right by Tokyo Station with a lot of smaller clothing, design, and home goods stores.
Views from the Peninsula Tokyo
In-room dining at the Peninsula Tokyo – Japanese breakfast for the hubby and Chinese breakfast for me.
Ginza Six, one of Tokyo’s newest luxury shopping malls.
Tsutaya Books inside Ginza Six
Unagi chazuke at Ginza Tamai
CLASKA Gallery & Shop “DO” – shops by CLASKA Hotel, there’s a few of these stores in Tokyo and has such a nice assortment of products
Amazing omakase dinner at Sushi Harumi (we booked through Pocket Concierge!)
Chef Keisuke Yoshiya making us origami at the end of the meal – he said it’s his specialty aside from sushi :)
Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh Jacket, Zara Dress, Balenciaga Sneakers, Aeta Bag, Eugenia Kim Hat, Gucci Sunglasses
HIGASHIYA GINZA, an extraordinary wagashi/dessert shop and café
Views from The Ritz Carlton, Tokyo
A warm welcome from The Ritz Carlton, Tokyo
Doen Top, 3x1 Denim, The Row Loafers, Aeta Bag, COS Beanie
21_21 DESIGN SIGHT, a museum created by Tadao Ando and Issey Miyake. Became one of my favorite museums ever, and it’s also located right in front of the Ritz Carlton, Tokyo!
Nezu Museum – aside from the wonderful art, they have an amazing garden where you can spend hours just wandering and enjoying the zen.
ISSEY MIYAKE stores everywhere – newfound appreciation and respect for this designer on this trip.
Maisen – they have soooo many different kinds of Tonkatsu, and it was delicious! You can come early for the limited high-end cuts.
Omotesando Hills – shopping complex with cool stores
Porter / Yoshida & Co – super cool mens selections of bags and other accessories. There’s a few of these stores and they’re all fantastic!
GYRE – smaller niche shopping mall with great selection of stores
Yakitori at TRUNK (KUSHI)
Early morning for a traditional Japanese breakfast at Yakumo Saryo (make sure to RSVP beforehand! You can just email.)
85(ハチゴウ)– cute homewares and groceries store
artless craft tea & coffee next door to store 85
MIGRATORY – well curated local shop
Tsutaya Books Daikanyama – flagship bookstore consisting of 3 buildings
Eliminator – really cool mens store
With my new potato bag from Beams x Porter
ATTACHMENT – one of hubby’s favorites, another great mens store
Shibuya Crossing
Watching several rounds of crossings from Starbucks above Tsutaya Books
D&DEPARTMENT PROJECT – store created by the design travel magazine; really nicely curated local goods
Exhibition with products featured in their latest issue IWATE
Shabu shabu at しゃぶ膳紫波 (slightly hidden on a local street, we walked in and were lucky to be seated without a reservation. The beef was incredible.)
Finally tried an $8 strawberry and $5 clementine! WORTH IT.
The Ritz Carlton is also connected to Tokyo Midtown and Galleria – lots of shopping and yummy eateries!
Exploring Roppongi Hills on our last day. The logo is funny :)
KUHO Coat, Sretsis Dress, Prada Sneakers, Chloe Bag, Converse Tokyo Hat
This iteration of their logo is LOVE.

We arrived in Tokyo from a relaxing trip in Kyoto on the Shinkansen, and 4 days went by like a whirlwind. As much as we tried to cram as much as possible in each and every day (while enjoying it fully of course!), I felt like it was just not enough time! There is so much to see, so much to shop, and so much to eat in Tokyo. I want to send a special thanks to The Peninsula Tokyo and The Ritz Carlton, Tokyo for being amazing hosts. They were different experiences, but so special in their own ways. The locations of these properties were wonderful as they were both in extremely convenient and central neighborhoods, but a bit apart from one another so we had a chance to explore two sides of town. The amazing shopping culture was to be expected, however I was still shocked at the never-ending number of well-curated stores, ranging from fashion to home goods to confections. There was an injection of lifestyle, curiosity, and sensitivity to everything everywhere. Ahhh! I honestly cannot wait until my next trip.
Below is an overview of places I’ve covered in this post, as well as additional selections of recommendations from friends and acquaintances.
