Sam Edelman is a brand that I've grown up with and will always hold a special place in my heart. I remember lusting after all their shoes, not only because they are super cute, they are also very comfortable—and when you are young and are not so good at wearing heels, it makes a pretty big difference (and heck, now, too!). The two looks above showcase two outfits I would wear for the day and for night. I feel like what I wear is pretty interchangeable. For night time events though I usually just bring it up a notch with a bright red lipstick, or change out my ankle boots for a skinnier heel as I have here.

The photos of my daytime look were taken in Washington Mews, a private gated street between Fifth Avenue and University Place—a step away from Washington Square Park. This street was first built to hold stables that serviced horses from homes in the area, but since then have served as housing, offices and other facilities for New York University. I love taking walks through this street whenever I'm in the area. It has so much New York history, yet at the same time reminds me of a bit of Europe; the cobblestone streets and perfectly kept buildings are just so dreamy. The color-ways of the buildings are really beautiful. For the look I paired the Asymmetrical Skort with Chiffon Pleated Blouse, with the Houndstooth Baseball Jacket on top. I love anything leather or leather-like mixed in with a jacket, and of course while keeping the look pretty neutral on the colors. I do like to let my accessories speak their course if need be.

Another obvious favorite neighborhood in the city is the West Village, where I love to come for breakfast, brunch, coffee, and dinner (...and dessert). This is where it led naturally to my night-time look. I switched out the Whitley boots for the Smithfield Heels. I keep my outfits mostly monochrome, but try to experiment with different materials and textures, cuts and lengths. The calf hair on these heels make them feel extra special. The texture and pattern on the Crackle Moto Jacket is absolute love as well—I can throw it on over the Pleated Studded Dress to give it a bit more edge. As a laid back Summer slowly disappears into the air, I feel like the colder weather also encourages more dressed up attire, as we just need more layers. Nothing I will complain about though as I love cooler temperatures.

Please make sure to head over to the Sam Edelman blog to read my short interview about East Coast Style, as well as vote for my look (just click 'like'!) for a style-off with West-Coast blogger Sazan Barzani on Sam Edelman's Instagram for a chance to attend an event I will potentially be hosting at the store this Fall! (You are all invited if I win!) Thanks in advance loves. x
