Perivolas Santorini
Described as a resort that "embodies simplicity, elegance, and tranquillity," our stay at Perivolas was one of a kind. We stayed 4 nights in a longish room that had been converted from a 300-year-old cave, but still sustained cave-like qualities. The service from the staff was exceptional, and every evening we stood outside on our deck overlooking the caldera to watch the sunset while enjoying a glass of Vinsanto wine. The chef provided degustation menus of Mediterranean fish and other seafood that were absolutely delectable.
We took a private boat tour one day which was very informational on the island of Santorini and the volcanic history of it, and were able to touch on locations that aren't so accessible by land. We were surprised by an incredible treat though when they took us to visit their Perivolas Hideaway, a camouflaged private villa situated right across from the Perivolas Hotel on the island of Thirassia, but is only accessible by sea. The thrill of taking a dip in the sea water pool while facing the Caldera was an experience like none other.
The short walking distance from Oia Town, as well as the closeness to Fira, made it very convenient to get into town and back throughout our trip. I will cover this in my next post, but until then! Special thank you to Perivolas for an unforgettable time in Santorini.
