Capri
Another picturesque view of Positano en route from our hotel Casa Angelina to take a ferry to Capri
There are a few stands selling tickets to go to other towns/islands, you just buy the one that has the next boat leaving!
A 2-hour group boat tour around the island, and to see the Blue Grotto
Waiting for the little boat to come get you, and then buy tickets into the Blue Grotto
Getting in is a bit crazy... you have to duck so you don't hit your head! (also by boat tour is much faster than waiting on line by foot)
Inside the sea cave
Lunch at Ristorante Mamma
Streets dedicated to luxury shopping
Buonocore Gelateria where they make the cones for you on the spot!
Capri was a special little island that we visited our last day on the Amalfi Coast. We took a ferry in from Positano (about a 30 minute ride) and spent a few hours exploring. I have to say it was a bit more touristy than what I was expecting, but it was fun walking around nonetheless. Capri worked our calf muscles, too, but there were also these open-top taxis, as well as the anacapri (railway) that could take you up or down the island. The first thing we did when we arrived though, was take a 2-hour boat ride around the island. It's a little confusing how to buy tickets, but I think essentially you can buy them from any of the vendors selling them by the dock, that is the same ticket for the same tour. I also thought 2-hours was a short ride, but by the end, I was definitely ready to get off (haha). The Blue Grotto, a sea cave where the water looks electric blue due to the sunlight passing through an underwater cave, was really cool and different from anything I've seen before.
So this is the end to our Amalfi Coast travel diary series. Be sure to check out Praiano, Positano, and Amalfi & Ravello if you have not already. The coast was such a beautiful experience, and looking forward to doing it all over again one day. La vita è bella!
